I'm Dave Good, a Software Development Engineer with NEC in Ohio.
When I'm not doing that, in my spare time I write essays and research papers; spend time with my wife and twin sons; write a little software; read a lot of books; work on my '54 Ford; work in my wood shop; volunteer for the Osnaburg Historical Society; and wonder where my time goes.  Occasionally I mow the lawn, take out the trash, fetch the mail, and cook.
These days I write software in whatever language interests me the most, but for now I get paid to write C# code. I've written real, actual, working software in Java, C#, C++, C++\CLI, VB <= 6.0, VB.NET, Sed/Awk, Bash script, and x86 assembly. I've attempted working software in Perl, Python, Ruby, Smalltalk, C, and pseudo code but was never very successful at completing anything with any of them - mostly because I just moved on to something more interesting.
I'm an amateur woodworker and I enjoy finding and milling my own lumber. I'm not above or opposed to purchasing wood, but so far I've managed to come by a fair amount of trees including maple, cherry, ash, and walnut, either from my own backyard or from people I know. I find it very gratifying to take a rough tree and turn it into something beautiful.
